    Description

    Old or Antique Hand Carved Gilded and Painted Wood Panel Featuring a Protective Forest Spirit.
    10 1/2 inches (26.7 cm) high x 8 1/4 inches (21 cm) wide
    Circa: 1890 -1940
    Condition: Very Good: There is light wear and an oxidized patina.
    Description: This old wood panel shows experienced free-hand carving. It is similar to other carvings showing forest guardians or protective spirits.  I am attributing the items origin to Bali, Indonesia because in my experience it is closer to in style to Bali than any other source in my experience.
    This item was found in a San Francisco Bay Area, California estate with no collection history.
