    Description: With the classic horizontal banding format, with large outlined geometric elements often found in the northern Arizona region and an unique inclusion of six butterflies motif (design patterned after the butterflies used on traditional Navajo concha belts that separate the conchos) that is common on Teec Nos pos style rugs, this Chiefs blanket is in Mint or Near Mint condition. This has a very hard, tight weave. Chief's blankets are the only traditional Navajo textiles woven on the loom wider than tall and in early times were worn wrapped around the shoulders, often with the top folded to form a small cowl.
