    Asmat Male Ancestor Figure Standing on A Pointed Canoe with Hands on His Phallus Artifact from Papua New Guinea -LP1
    Up for sale is this Asmat Male Figure with a prominent nose and decorated with scarification throughout is standing on a pointed model of a canoe with both hands on his phallus. This artifact is hand carved from a single piece of wood that has been treated with natural black pigment.
    Provenance:
    Private collection. Collected during the early 1970s during an expedition through the rivers of the West Papua New Guinea Region and selected prior to New Guinean regulations limiting the export of art.
    Condition:
    This piece is one-of-a-kind, hand carved by Asmat Tribesmen from a single piece of wood that has been treated with natural black pigment.
