    Description

Mac Ruff was a well known professor and dealer in tribal art work specifically from the region
of the Sepik River New Guinea.  He wrote a book on this, lived in NG, and was a well respected dealer and curator. He most important pieces are now in the Bishoff in Hawaii. This carving comes from a local estate of a couple, who as the say goes, "did not know cheap" and had a number of items purchased directly from Mac.  The carving was purchased, according to the family ledger, in the 1970s.  20 inches tall, 8 inches wide, about 4 inches deep and weighs about 4 lbs.  An excellent carving with nice eyes and a kindly smile. Shipped Fed Ex ground.  Inv 11819
