The overall length of the antenna is 102' so you will need 106' of space to hang your antenna in a dipole confirguration. Please consider this when deciding on a location for your antenna. Less space will be needed if you are going to install the antenna as an inverted vee or as a sloper type antenna. The location in which you place your antenna as an inverted vee or as a sloper type will determine the amount of space needed.
The antenna should be kept at least 2 feet from metal down spouts, gutters, metal roofs and other sizeable metal objects. The antenna should be erected in the clear as much as possible. This should keep the ends from picking up any stray coupling with conductive objects. The antenna may be suspended between two buildings, two trees or a building and a tree. Always keep a slight sag in the antenna. This will keep it from being under constant strain and will not effect the performance of the antenna. If you should decide to suspend between two trees, make sure you leave enough sag to allow for trees swaying in the wind of a storm.
Attach the required lengths of support rope to the insulators at the end of the antenna and hoist it into position. Run the ladder line at a 90 degree angle from the antenna, keeping away from any metal gutters or down spouts.
Do not erect the antenna or its supports any where in the vicinity of power lines. Ice or Wind conditions, falling objects (limbs, trees) or the collapse of the supports could cause the antenna or feedline (ladder line) to break. Power lines or antenna can fall or be blown down or against each other and cause property damage, personal injury or even death. It is the responsibility of the user that he places his antenna in a position where it can not fall or be blown down against power lines. It is recommended that two people install the antenna in the event help may be needed to place the antenna into position, and also be alert for any hazardous conditions which may exist.
