    Description

    Sepik Mask
    Hand-Carved and Hand-Painted
    Nice features of this mask include its large size, good condition, pleasing earth colors, and an expressive, primitive face.  Proper lighting would heighten the dramatic effect.
    It's all hand-carved with hand-painted decoration, attached to a woven, fiber surround (possibly rattan or some other vine). There's a loop at the top for hanging. There's wear to the paint consistent with use.
