LARGE OLD SOUTH PACIFIC CARVED HARDWOOD KAVA BOWL

Description

This is a 24" long bowl, handles at each end, carved from a beautiful hardwood. The bowl has thin sides and is polished to a very smooth surface. It is from the South Pacific, possibly the Marquesas Islands, and appears to be a kava bowl. It has a crack at one end with an old repair. The repair is made with a reddish putty that I have seen on old Hawaiian calabashes. See pics...email questions.
