Product description
This Data General / B&B Electronics RS-232 to RS-422 converter converts unbalanced RS-232 signals to balanced RS-422 signals. The RS-422 Standard uses a balanced voltage digital interface to allow communications of 38.4K bits per second on cable lengths of 4000 feet.
The RS-232 port is a male DB25P connector. Transmit input is on Pin 2 and Receive output is
on Pin 3. Protective ground (pin 1) is connected to Signal Ground (pin 7).
The RS-422 port uses a female DB-25S connector with Transmit (+) on Pin 11, Transmit (-)
on Pin 12, Receive (+) on Pin 9, and Receive (-) on Pin 10. Receive Data Pins 9 and 10
are terminated with a 120-ohm resistor to match twisted-pair cable impedance.
