Nearly four pounds in weight! 19th century, probably early. 55 1/2” length, diamond section with leaf shaped terminals, the larger with a medial rib one side. Good glossy patina on shell scraped surface. Minor staining and bruises as expected. Solomon Islanders were notorious headhunters and cannibals. Clubs such as this inflicted massive concussive injuries which allowed the victim to remain alive while being transported back from the battle site.
