DESCRIPTION:
Here is a traditional type of hair ornament from the island of Java, Indonesia. It would have been worn for weddings or similar festivals.
This lovely matched pair of gold tone metal filigree hair combs is made intended to be worn on the sides of the head. The attractive scroll and floral design is encrusted with AB rhinestones.
The back of each ornament has a long metal prong to hold it in place against the hair. However further small hairpins could be placed through the holes for added security.
Another idea would be to cover a headband with material of your choice and sew the ornaments in place to it. Headbands with one large ornament placed on the side are very fashionable. These two would make lovely hair decorations for the maids of honour at a spring wedding.
