* This glass is a Neutral Clear Borosilicate Glass Type I.  It has an expansion coefficient of 33. This tubing is best suitable for vial and ampoules packaging offering exceptional chemical durability and resistance to thermal shock breakage.
The proprietary glass composition is formulated without arsenic, calcium or barium. It is a low expansion, low sodium formulation that is commonly known as Pyrex-like and ASTM designates it a Class ‘A’ borosilicate.
As this type of glass withstands temperature ranges from extreme heat to extreme cold, it is ideal for terminal sterilization, autoclaving, dehydrogenation and lyophilization. The low sodium formulation combined with the “Wheaton Process 33-EP” passes requirements from European, Japanese and United States Pharmacopoeias for hydrolytic resistance.
