    New Guinea Artifact of Three Connected Ancestor Figures Profile Tribal Carving Sculpture –Lot F32
    Up for auction/sale is this primitive Three Asmat Figures one above the other in profile and connected poses. Decorated with incised ornamentation. Hand carved from a single piece of unpainted hardwood.
    Provenance:
    Private collection. Collected in the early 1970s during an expedition through the rivers of the West Papua New Guinea Region and selected prior to New Guinean regulations limiting the export of art.
    This artifact has been kept in storage for over 40 years and it's been offered for sale for the first time since collected.
    Condition:
    This piece is hand carved by Asmat Tribesmen. This artifact
