    Description

Original hand woven waist ban for Asmat tribal men. The waist ban was made in Agats village by the Asmat tribe and is made from all natural plant materials.  Agats village is where Michael Rockefeller disappeared while trying to contact the Asmat tribe in 1961.  He was never seen again.  I acquired the piece on a trip to the remote village more than 20 years ago. The Asmat tribe was still known for cannibalism and head hunting at the time Of Rockefeller's disappearance.  The waist ban measures 43" X 8".  The waist ban would look great framed and would be a great addition for any Papua New Guinea, Primitive clothing, or Asmat
collection.  Please review all photos.  Al offers considered.  MAKE AN OFFER!!!
