Stunning Vintage Philippine Igorot Hand Carved Wooden Headhunter Statue offering bowl male and female. Some use the bowl part as planters. It was made by the Igorot people of the highlands of Northern Luzon in the Philippines. Noteworthy for its great detail and the wonderful patina that has developed over the years. The earrings, while carved from the head, are mobile. If the loincloth is removed, the figure is anatomically correct. Sorry, no photos.Circa early 1900's Large crack in the base of the bowl of the female statue that has been filled with wood glue, male statue also has minor cracking at the bottom of the base, the head hunters arm appears to be either fixed previously or it was made like that (as seen in pics) . What a beautiful addition to your collection. Makes a great gift! Carvings are approximately 26.0" tall. Please see all photos.
