We had to do our homework on this very gorgeous, unusual, folk art,
one-of-a-kind shadow box because this very pretty piece is worth
the effort. We found out some interesting facts. There were artisans
in the Philippines who hand made these, probably a big tourist
attraction. Shells from Olongapo and Manilla...the gorgeous beachs
of the Western Pacific Ocean. Wow!
Surviving around 60 years...We think our Peacock Shadow box has
fared better than most. In minty condition, we boast a clean glass
inside and out, no cloudy appearance, a wooden light weight frame...
so sixties, and the perfect shells for this beautiful bird. Are those
pieces of coral darning this peacocks neck?
A mystery with an incredible story. Very well cared for and off to
its new home! We have priced this one to sell quickly. Worth
every penny, peacocks are special birds and this one is no exception!
