My mother was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and she collected beautiful art on her numerous trips back to her home country. She was an professional interior designer and had an amazing eye for fine decor. This is one of her pieces. It is a "painting" made by using small bits of wood as the medium. This is very soothing to look at because even though there are a lot of details, there is an orderly rhythm over all. This is a beautiful tribute to Island Life- the raised home for when the rains come, lovely mountains, and gorgeous trees. The golden wood pieces stand out against the dark background. This would look beautiful in many decor styles. Put it in your yoga area, tiki bar, elegant bathroom, or Mid century living room. This is custom framed and in excellent condition with no loose pieces, cracks, or scratches. There are two small punctures in the backing paper. The piece is 18" tall and 14" wide.
