Description

This is the model MP1DXTR80 Super Antenna and has the optional 60-meter coil and radial set.
Note that this Super Antenna model does
NOT
have the 2-meter adapter (MC2SuperPlexer) for simultaneous HF-VHF.  The antenna does NOT come with a SuperSpike.
Information taken from the manufacturer’s description:  The Super Antenna includes: The MP1B Antenna is at the heart of this high performance system, with its high Q coil military-grade nickel beryllium SuperSlider, with repeatable precision. After setting up the antenna, simply set your desired frequency on the SuperSlider and start transmitting. TUNING: The FG1 Frequency Guide SWR Ruler is a tough polymer card that is calibrated in MHz and meter bands. With it, a good SWR is dialed in on all HF amateur bands with no need for an autotuner. Enjoy the freedom of all bands 80m/60/40m/30m/20m/17m/15m/12m/10m and cover all amateur frequencies 3.5MHz~30MHz. The included SW1 SuperWhip ruggedized Titanium whip puts the Super Antenna in a durability class beyond any normal ham antenna. This model also includes the TW1 Telescopic Whip for the MP1 so you can choose between the SuperWhip and the Telescopic Whip depending on your needs.  TRIPOD: The collapsible TM1 Low Profile Tripod enables the antenna to be set up on any convenient flat surface whether the ground or a picnic table. MOUNT: The UM2 Universal Mount attaches to nearby objects in any portable or base situation, with your choice to use either the clamp or U-bolt. RADIALS: Pre-tuned multi-length quarter-wave SuperWire Stealth Radial Sets with integral push-on connectors for 80-10 meters. The included MC80 SuperCoil with MR8075 radial set provides expansion of the full 80-meter and 75-meter bands. The MC60 SuperCoil with MR6060 radial set provide 60-meter coverage.  GO BAG: The stealth black durable GB carry case is a professional quality case with hidden pockets made for carrying Super Antenna gear. Everything fits inside the black carry case and provides a compact system that you can take anywhere.
In addition to the HF coils and radials, this antenna does include the MR642 radial set which covers 6-meters, 2-meters and the 70 centimeter (440) frequencies.  The antenna does
NOT
include the
MC2SuperPlexer.  According to the manufacturer, to operate on the 6-meter band you only use the first extension rod and the Telescopic Whip extended to 42".  To operate on the 2-meter and 70 centimeter band you only use the Telescopic Whip and adjust the whip to 17".  I have never used my Super Antenna on anything but HF so I have no personal observations on how well it does.  When I operate on VHF-UHF I use a separate antenna that is designed specifically for that purpose (which is NOT included with this item).
I am in RACES and the Super Antenna works well for EmComm in my opinion because it is easy to set up and easy to carry.
I have enjoyed using this antenna and you can see numerous u-Tube videos on its performance.   It has quite a following of dedicated fans.  I recommend you review the videos for additional information about this antenna.  Why am I selling my antenna?  I have recently moved to a 2nd floor condo and with all the steel railings on my balcony, and lack of space to lay down the radials I can’t use it effectively.  The manufacturer's set up instructions tell you to keep the antenna in the clear all around and at least 10 feet away from buildings and objects above or toward the sides.  They indicate that the radial set wires should droop down loosely from the mount to lay upon a surface and you should separate the ends of the wires at least 5' from each other.  This is impossible in my current location.  Remember this antenna requires that you adjust the main coil (SuperSlider) each time you change bands, and in some cases when you move very far off of your currently tuned frequency, especially on the lower HF bands.
This antenna loves being outdoors with lots of space to lay down the radials on the ground.  In an outdoor condition like this, the antenna performs well in my opinion.  Remember this antenna requires that you adjust the main coil each time you change bands, and in some cases when you move very far off of your currently tuned frequency.  But if you want to use it above ground on a hotel or apartment balcony, I don’t think this is the antenna for you.  Finding the right HF antenna has a great deal to do with how you want to use it and where you plan to use it.  All HF antenna manufacturers want you to believe that their antenna will work in any circumstance, but in my experience that simply isn’t true.  So please check out the reviews for this antenna, consider how you plan on using it and where you plan on using it before bidding on this item.
