COIL CLEANING
Depending on your location, miles driven, weather conditions and antenna mounting location you may need to do a coil cleaning at least once per year. You'll notice high or fluctuating SWR and/or unpredictable tuning when the coil is dirty. On most installs you can do a coil cleaning while still installed on the vehicle.
1-Extend the antenna until all of the coil is exposed through the lexan.
2-Remove the three small screws on the side of the top cap. There is no need to remove the top cap to clean the coil..
3-Firmly grab the lexan shield and slide it down, this step will expose the coil.
4-Wipe the coil with one of the HP cleaner/degreaser wipes, immediately dry the coil with a drying wipe. DO NOT LET THE CLEANER AIR DRY.
5-Repeat step four if the drying wipe is still removing grime.
6-Scuff the coil with the dry Scotch-Brite pad...Lightly on the models LT-HP, 40A-HP, 100A-HP, 200A-HP because the coil is plated.. Scuff more aggressively on the LT-II, 75A, 300A and   400A because the coil is bare copper and oxidation needs to be removed.
7-No cleaning is required for the fingerstock as it is self cleaning.
8-Repete step four, once or twice until the coil is clean and dry.
9-Reassemble.
