The Mayflower, at 1127 Connecticut Ave. NW, opened in 1925 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It is known as the “Grande Dame of Washington”, the “Hotel of Presidents” and as the city’s “Second Best Address” (the White House is the first).
Up until January 1981, every president since Calvin Coolidge has held an inaugural party in one of its expansive ballrooms.
