These items were originally sterilized by irradiation, and autoclaving may not be recommended. The interiors are isolated since the screw caps are on. Some photos of isolated tubes were taken using a bag that was opened for that purpose, which is not for sale.

    Description

    Intended for cryogenic transportation and storage of biological material, from microbiology to cell biology. In principle, these work in both liquid nitrogen (or vapor phase) storage, although sometimes tubes blow up under these conditions. Best in a mechanical freezer (-150 C minimum temperature). The CryoTubes® cryogenic vial has a marking at 1.8 mL, with internal screw threads, and a round bottom. Tubes are 48 mm long and 12.5 mm diameter. These were sold RNase and DNase free, sterilized by irradiation, and the bag has not been opened. Most similar to Nunc 363401 CryoTube, although the bag is not labeled with exact part number.
