Vintage Southwestern museum quality Sterling silver
engraved with Freemason's square and compasses 10k gold applique
bolo tie, handmade by the master-silversmith Vic Cedarstaff (picto-hallmarked). In the U.S., bolo ties are commonly associated with Western wear and used more frequently in the Southwestern regions. This old beauty showcases an elaborate micro-engraved, 10k gold Masonry or Freemason's square and compasses applique in the center of the pendant / slide. The Masonry symbol is adorned by the intricate engraving work all around the front of the slide. Vic allegedly invented the bolo tie in the late 1940s, although Sterling silver bolos and tips have been often linked to the Navajo, Zuni, and Hopi silversmithing. The folded pendant used as cord grip on the back of the slide is Vic's signature design. This collectible piece weighs a total of 62.5 grams. The slide is approximately 1 9/16" tall, by almost 1 7/8" wide, at its widest. The roughly 39" long black cord (including the 2 3/4" heavy-gauge, Hopi tips) is in great condition with no tears and the leather weaving is nice and tight. The neck-band portion of the cord is also in great shape but one of the ends is missing a little adhesive foam that was most likely added by the previous owner. Four pairs of ferrules (sleeves) adorn the cord, a pair at the neck band, and 3 pairs right above the tips. Beautiful craftsmanship and design by Cedarstaff, and definitely a must-have for collectors of Southwestern and/or Masonic jewelry and accessories. It's makes it a thoughtful gift to the special member of a lodge.

Items have a fixed price, however, we will consider all reasonable offers. Low-ball offers may be disregarded depending on the volume of email we receive on any given day.
Store Policies:
We do not require immediate payment at time of purchase, and will work with buyers, at our discretion, on a future payment date that is mutually convenient. Depending on the asking price, you may have up to 90 days to make a payment.
We offer free return shipping so long as we receive the request within 14 days from delivery date for items purchased in the "Collectibles" category (when it's the primary category), and 30 days for items purchased in the "Jewelry & Watches" category (when it's the primary category).
Items must be returned in the same condition described in the listing.
Our items are packed securely and under surveillance cameras for your peace of mind.
All returns will be charged a 10% re-stocking fee up to , unless the item has a flaw, damage, or detail not previously mentioned in the listing and/or shown in the photographs provided, or if any aspect of the item, such as a measurement, was grossly misrepresented in the listing.
We ship next business day after payment is received. Friday sales are usually shipped on Mondays, unless it's a holiday.
Items with asking price up to 5 will be shipped First Class, and all other items will be shipped Priority, unless buyers request something different prior to making the purchase. Tracking number will be automatically generated by eBay and posted to the transaction for both First Class and Priority shipping as soon as we create a label. Items over 0 will require signature upon delivery, even when shipped to a P. O. Box.
We combine shipping for multiple items.
