Available are these two carved bowls possibly from the Trobriand Islands?  They are Oceanic in design and gorgeous pieces.   The bowls are made out of a hard wood - black possibly stained with mother of pearl inlay.  Both bowls have matching carving around the edges and appear to be a set.  The smaller bowl measures 9 inches wide by 2.5 tall.  The larger bowl measures 11.75 wide by just under 4 inches tall.
They are in good condition, but do show wear and age.  There are several pieces of inlay missing as seen in photos.  There are dimples or carving marks on the inside of each bowl, and some carving marks on the reverse as well.  From an estate sale - exact age and history are unknown.
