Description

Sublimely unaware of its own elegance, the beautiful Anhinga perches on a knotty branch overhanging a freshwater swamp and spreads its lavish wings.  Unlike other water birds, the Anhings's wings are not waterproof; they must be hung out to dry.  This plate is the fourth issue in the Elegant Birds collection from W.S. George, artist and naturalist James Faulkner painting in a style reminiscent of the legendary John James Audubon.
